Brun Barbosa is a relentless and athlete who lives for challenges. Beneath his sturdy exterior, he is a friendly and happy soul who loves good music, a good laugh over an ice lemon tea and has a passion for helping others. Brun lives and breathes jiu-jitsu, six days a week. With his discipline and hard work, it's no wonder that he's a multi-award winning champion en route to achieving his red belt and becoming a world champion.

Fiona is a true YOLOist. She lives her life not by anyone's standard, but her own; waking up at 5 am every day to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time Jiu-jitsu athlete. A determined adventurer lives who doesn't let a moment got to waste. Training 5-6 times a week on top of her full-time job, makes it a point to learn something new every single day and knows how to unwind over a cup of coffee in the Yosemite national park whenever she can. She truly embodies the characteristic of unstoppable Grit.

Edgar is a real go-getter. He has won multiple championships built on 7-years of hard work and discipline. Living by a personal motto that you miss 100% of the shots that you don't take, Edgar works hard to fulfil his dream to be a gold medallist in the Big 4 tournament. To him, Hard work works. Edgar may seem to be quiet and reserved to many, but he is a motivated athlete who wishes to spread the Jiu-Jitsu and make a positive impact on people's lives through it.

Unknown to many, Matthew's ambition was to be an engineer when he was young. It turns out; he's living an unconventional life unlike peers of his age. He spends his day training 5 days a week and represented Singapore as part of the national team in Sea Games 2019. Matthew's a motivated athlete, inspired by David Goggins, n American ultramarathon runner, ultra-distance cyclist, triathlete, motivational speaker and author, for his unbreakable spirit.

Zhen Teng is a passionate and determined athlete who has won multiple championships across kickboxing, MMA and BJJ. His love for martial art is profound, for it has taught him valuable life lessons and values through his practices. Learning self-discipline, respect, humility, always to be honest with himself, and to approach every situation with reasoning and confidence. To him, martial arts is an endless journey which drives him to be a better person every single day.

Jovina Choo | Sailor

Singapore Representative in Rio de Janeiro Olympics 2016: Women’s 470

Jovina Choo represented Singapore in the women’s 470 event at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The year before the Olympics, she won two golds on home waters in the Southeast Asian Games keelboat match racing and fleet racing events, helming her quartet of sailors in both events.

In addition to fleet racing, Jovina is also an experienced match racing sailor. Match racing differs from fleet in that only two boats sail against each other at a time. She bagged golds in the 2015 SB20 Grand Slam and Match Race League 1, as well as in the previous year’s edition of the latter.

5G Racing, to us, is a symbol that there is a future for a Singapore team of female sailors to race on the international stage, be it in keelboat fleet racing or match racing. It is also not always about winning, but simply that women can sail big boats that has been dominated by men.

Singapore Women's Floorball Team

Floorball

The Singapore Floorball Association (SFA) was formed in 1995. It aims to encourage, develop and manage the sport of Floorball at national and international levels in Singapore. It also strives to promote Floorball to countries within the region. The association is constantly working to increase participation in Floorball and provide more playing opportunities for Singaporeans of all ages.

SFA will continue to support its national teams in international competitions such as the World Floorball Championships and Asia Pacific Floorball Championships. It is currently lobbying for Floorball to be included in major games such as the SEA Games and the Commonwealth Games. Through its efforts, SFA believes that Singapore will have the top-ranked men and women national teams in Asia.
