SUSTAINABILITY

At Goldbell, we don’t believe that giving back to the community is simply about good deeds and charity. To us, it is also about treating everyone as part of our family.

For more than three decades, we have always recognised the spirit of giving and doing our part to serve the community. Together as a family, we celebrate achievements and persevere through difficulties. We grow together by helping one another, making sure no one is left behind.

At Goldbell Foundation, we are truly inspired to share this belief.

OUR BENEFICIARIES

GARDEN CITY FUND

In Partnership with Garden City Fund

The Garden City Fund was established in 2002 under our founder, Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Aiming to complement NParks’ efforts towards fulfilling its City in the Garden vision, GCF was established by NParks as a charity.

The programme hopes to cultivate a love for the environment and promote a sense of ownership in our natural heritage by optimising the green spaces in Singapore and supporting the urban biodiversity conservation model by engaging the community.

PLANT A TREE PROGRAMME

We firmly believe that as part of the society, every individual has the responsibility to care for our trees and environment. The Plant-A-Tree Programme was established for both organisations and individuals to contribute to the greening of our City in a Garden by planting trees.

The Programme aims to give every individual a chance to donate to the cost of a young tree and plant it, thereby sustaining our lush greenery. Trees play a crucial role in our ecosystem by maintaining our biodiversity, securing a future for our environment. Make your 'green investment' for the future with us!

SEED BANK AND SEED COLLECTIONS

The Singapore Botanic Gardens Seed Bank is Singapore's first of such facility and conserves the seeds of threatened plant species from Southeast Asia. Seed banking safeguards plant biodiversity in the region and act as insurance against threats such as disease, climate change, as well as natural and man-made disasters.

When established, the Seed Bank will have the capacity to store seeds from up to 25,000 species of plants. This is around 50% of seed plant species in Southeast Asia and nearly triple the 9,000 species of plants that the Gardens currently has in its living collection.

The programme aims to help students with the continuation of their education and contribution to the economy by running their businesses or joining the workforce.
