HAPPENINGS

Collaborating with Singapore River One and Raffles Design Institute to revitalise Singapore River.

As a local home-grown SME, Goldbell is passionate about all things Singapore, especially our rich culture and heritage. Boat Quay is the place where it all started when Sir Stamford Raffles first stepped foot onto the shores of Singapore.

Determined to preserve our national heritage, Goldbell supports the Business Improvement District (BID), a 4-year business plan aimed to improve the Singapore River District since 2017. The aim of this plan is to promote activities, enhance visitors’ experience, support and create value for businesses.

Street Furniture Design Project
Goldbell has adopted Singapore River’s Street Furniture Design Project in support of BID. Partnering with Interior and Product Designers from Raffles Design Institute, SRO is looking to design functional seating for visitors in the Singapore River district. The design theme was to showcase the contrast between the River’s heritage and future modernism.

Designs were presented to the judging panel that comprised of Singapore River One, Goldbell Group and Urban Redevelopment Authority. The finalists had their designs displayed during the Raffles Design Institute Graduation Ceremony 2018.

We can’t wait to see the Instagram-worthy yet functional seats that will be implemented mainly in Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay!

Singapore River One
In 2012, SRO was introduced as the Place Manager of the Singapore River Precinct, which includes Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. A not-for-profit company, SRO is dedicated to creating a more welcoming and vibrant Singapore River, making it the choice destination for both businesses and visitors.
